Health Information Exchange (HIE)

One of the primary objectives of the HITECH Act is to foster the “electronic exchange of health information to improve the quality of health care, such as promoting care coordination.” 

With MD-IT’s new Health Information Exchange (HIE), you can do just that. 

Any physician whom you courtesy copy (cc:) can view a note from the MD-IT Platform once permissions have been turned on. 

For Referring Physicians

• Access referring physician notes from any internet-enabled PC or phone  
• View and print approved reports directly from the MD-IT website   
• Upload electronic records directly to your EMR system for small charge
  per record 

For Consulting Physicians

• Enhance referral relationships with timely consulting reports
• Eliminate time and expense of faxing or mailing letters

Data Tagging

You don’t have to choose between dictation and EMRs.  You can have the best of both worlds:  the efficiency and clarity of narrative notes plus clinical data for tracking and reporting.  XML (Extensible Markup Language) makes it possible to tag and export data from text documents (such as Word) for upload to an EMR system.  These documents are known as structured narrative notes.

MD-IT can create structured narrative notes to help your practice in several ways:
