Transcription Pricing
Medical Transcription pricing can be offered and billed in many different manners. By report, by page, by character, by gross line and keystroke are just a few examples. MD-IT’s billing practices are open, honest, and available for review by any prospect or client. Our web-based platform is configured to allow for a variety of different billing types to ensure that each client’s needs are met.
We use the following definitions when charging for our services:
Line Count: Line count is calculated by counting characters and dividing the resulting character count by an agreed upon number of characters per line.
Character: A character is any typed letter, number, space, or other keystroke entry. Some characters that are not visible are counted, such as spaces, tabs, and paragraph marks.
We adhere to the Billing Method Principles developed by the Medical Transcription Industry Association, for the benefit of buyers of transcription services, providers of medical transcription services, medical transcriptionists, caregivers, and medical patients.
Verifiability: A medical transcription billing method should be subject to verification, with such verification being available to parties to the transaction.
Definability: A medical transcription billing method should accurately define all measurements and be free from definitional ambiguity.
Measurability: A medical transcription billing method should allow for complete understanding of the formulas used in its calculation and result in a clear and concise invoice.
Consistency: A medical transcription billing method should be generally reliable and consistent in its application.
Integrity: A medical transcription billing method should be fair and honest, resulting in invoices that accurately reflect and charge for services rendered.
License Fees
Connect: The application is provided free of charge with our transcription service and can be loaded on as many user computers as necessary. There are some optional features for our Connect premium service that may incur small monthly charges.
Enabler and Complete: Users are charged a monthly service fee for these software applications and may load these applications on up to two user computers. Dragon NaturallySpeaking speech recognition software is included in the subscription model with no upfront costs. For clients who have previously purchased a license of Dragon NaturallySpeaking the subscription price is altered.
